Ocean

Ocean is a concept that would allow people to browse and post encounters of maritime flora and fauna whilst also providing information about the natural history and habitat.

About The Project

I was brought up on the West Coast of Ireland, by the edge of one one of the greatest playgrounds that has ever been known to mankind; the ocean. The trouble is, not everybody knows the means of how to access it, the secret locations or the opportunity it offers. Users would have the option to browse an interactive map that provides information about location of various ocean related activities. Furthermore, they would have the option to learn about the damage and effects plastic consumption is having on the oceans as well as having access to a camera that is activated once an animal comes within it’s range.

Font & Logo Design

Inspired by the shades blues and greys are colours I wake up to every morning. The logos are representative of the flowing movements of the sea. The font I chose is called Hero. It is a very clean, san-sans font renowned for it’s excellent legibility and geometric design

Prototype

Using XD I built some mid fidelity pages that would feature on the app. Although not fully functional, they do give a good insight as to how the application would look and feel giving a tester or user a chance to assess how well it would meet expectations and needs. It was also an effective way of giving life to the product.

From the beginning of time, the urge to explore has been a driving force of humanity. We are now living in an age where we have to means to discover and share areas that may have been previously thought to be inaccessible is wildly available. Through Ocean, I would hope to foster a community of people that that would share a love for one earths most beautiful and unique natural resources.
